Interior Design Style and Colour Use for the Home Office (3 of 4)

There are two ways that you can go through the selection of general equipment of your home office: either follow the style that prevails in the rest of your house or treat the office as an individual room. The selection of the way to go is a simple task, the answers to a few questions.

> Does your home have been decorated in a style that is visible everywhere?

> Is your office clearly visible from other rooms /areas of your house?

> Is your work suggests a style of its own?

Based to the above questions, here are a few simple ways to help you achieve a pleasing decor in your home office.

If you are going to treat your term as part of your home, with the same decor and style, your Order is already half finished. But remember, you do not have to use the exact color or mood. You can see what you outside of your mandate to blend smoothly. For instance, you can reverse the main colors and accent, you can use the same colors, but in different proportions, or another degree of formality. Since you are decorating an office, it is likely that you are going to want to deal with the different style than it appears, as in other areas of your home, and that is normal. Do not be afraid to create a variation in the atmosphere - it's only the general style you are respect.

For a home office that is open in a room of your home, you need a little more cautious. In this case, the style seen around your office, but you definitely should aim to create a sense of separation between your work and housing. Optical separation does not mean that construction of a wall, but to create a new environment within the existing one. Some of the ways the visual separation include changes in ceiling height and /or ground-level (a step up or down), a room divider in a position to look decorative rather than limited colour changes such as the reversal of the main and accent paint colors used on the walls, furniture and placement.

Placing furniture in a way that separates the layout room is fairly easy, but do not forget to play with your ideas on graph paper first or else you can give yourself still new, while you should already be set to Your desk. Consider a large bookcase or storage cabinet as a room divider - the reverse side is, with fabric, color, a collage ... City or furniture back-to-back to create a sense of two separate zones. Remember, while you are working on the layout that you do not want to feel that your office is, for example, the back of your basement - it is The back of the cellar. Just as words can be played, it may space.

A home office, that is, a style of its own is a fun thing to develop. You should aim to have a bit more, you are in the facility, while creating a visual sense of what you do. This is not a cabin in a large office complex - this is your office. If you have a love of bold patterns, vintage cars, angels ... in the body, even if they have nothing to do with what will you do in your office. At the same time, your office should say more about whay you do that, "I work at a desk." What do you do that, in the desk? If you are in the computer business, have things around that suggest that, as an enlarged and framed comic has something to do with computers. If your office is actually more of a workshop and clothing alterations, your supplies to your decor: Display spools of thread in a rainbow-like patterns, hand a few inches rod from the wall and drape some substances could be a constantly changing scenery. If you work in the travel industry, have a model airplane suspended, and displays objects or images symbolic of some of your favorite destinations, if they are not in your way, a beach ball in your office, or a "sandbox" Depends gluing on the wall of sand on the back of a shadow box and gluing small shells on the sand.

When the choice of colours for your office, there are a few basic points to consider. yellow, red and other warm colors in very large quantities may cause you feel thirsty. Blue is very relaxing, but be careful not to choose a bland gray-blue, which actually lead to feeling tired or restless. The best way to go through the selection the colors of your office is to choose three colors, use as a main color (for example on the walls), other than the main accent color (visible in a pattern on a carpet, curtains, desk accessories ...) , And the third as the accent color appear only in splashes here and there (like flowers in a vase, a few photo frame ...). At this point, your color is set, and anything you have to do is keep in mind some basic points of color psychology. A dark blanket feels very low, mirrors and reflective materials to make a room feel graer, too many colors, particularly bold, it can lead to a feeling of disorder, even if there are none.

A final point about color and style materials such as wood, stone, metal and can be used in any color combination - even if they may impact on the style, they will not collide. A natural pine desk is certainly a different look than a mahogany, but is either with a colour, ditto for stainless steel and brass, marble and concrete.
