The ultimate contrast between pure black and white is known for creating dramatic minimalist arrangements, but it has an equally important role to play in softer, more traditional rooms as well. Over the centuries, black and white, probably more than all other colors are still popular.

On opposite ends of the tonal scale, black and white, are a powerful combination. If the two ends of the scale are brought together until it is a visual rocker that both satisfying and fascinating: maximum visual contrast. The close juxtaposition of colors works particularly striking in geometric patterns and even throws in the center of the line of furniture and accessories. Although black and white is often associated with serious, hard edges, interiors, you will find it fits in many situations. A plethora of substances, wallpaper, ceramics and decorative objects available to an entirely black-and-white scheme, or add a dash of verve to other colors. Whether you are planning a whole room, or the search for a single article, there are bound to see to it that you like.

A black-and-white scheme is open to infinite interpretations, especially in the proportions used. A number of these colors, combined with an assortment of textures, provides a room retains warmth and character without compromising the simplicity of the amazing effect.

There are many ways to the stage for a symphony in black and white, next to a can of white latex and a can of black gloss. You can use a completely different tack and go for a clearer statement with jazzy controls, powerful black and white stripes, or scribbly designs.

on the floor, the elegance of a width of shiny black and white marble is an extravagance, but it is easy to create a similar effect by alternating cheaper vinyl, linoleum, tile or ceramic. You can also paint bare planks with a black-and-white checkerboard pattern. These effects would be just the thing for a hallway, kitchen or bathroom.
